Abstract

The integration of digital tools into language education has transformed the teaching of writing, particularly in English as a Second Language (ESL) contexts. This article explores the use of Padlet as a gamified platform for teaching paragraph and essay writing. Drawing on theories of second language acquisition (SLA), process writing, and collaborative learning, the study examines how Padlet supports level-based writing development from sentence construction to essay composition. Empirical studies indicate that Padlet enhances motivation, reduces anxiety, and promotes peer interaction. Practical classroom applications are provided to demonstrate how gamification elements—such as levels, tasks, and feedback—can be integrated into writing instruction. The findings suggest that Padlet is an effective tool for improving writing skills, engagement, and collaborative learning in ESL classrooms.
