MICROSCOPIC VIEWS IN DETERMINING THE MORPHOLOGICAL FORM OF LIVER CIRRHOSIS

Abstract
Liver cirrhosis histopathology is characterized by the distortion of the normal liver architecture due to fibrosis (scarring) and regenerative nodules. The fibrosis forms septa (bands of scar tissue) that disrupt the normal lobular structure, surrounding islands of regenerating hepatocytes. This scarring leads to impaired liver function, portal hypertension, and increased risk of hepatocellular carcinoma.
