THE EFFECTIVENESS OF TASK-BASED LANGUAGE TEACHING IN VOCABULARY ACQUISITION AMONG ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNERS
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study investigates the effectiveness of Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) in enhancing vocabulary acquisition among English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learners. It was conducted at the 195th school in Chilanzar District, Uzbekistan, among two Russian-speaking 5th-grade students. In the study, a total of 60 students participated and were measured by their mental capacity to remember new words and apply them in real life. The results showed that using the TBLT method in the classroom was beneficial, since the average percentage of lexical performance of both classes rose markedly in one week. So, it was deduced that teachers should integrate TBLT more into their lessons to make students use the newly learnt words in reality.
