Abstract

The family is a unit of society, the most important form of organization of personal life, based on marital union and family ties, living together and running a common household – this is the definition given by E.G. Eidemiller. It is impossible to single out the exact date of the emergence of interest in family and family therapy, but it can be noted that already in the 20s of the XX century, psychiatrists, clinical and social psychologists began to conduct systematic family research. These studies covered both the parenting process and family structure, family conflicts, etc.
