Abstract

This article analyzes the barriers and opportunities encountered by female leaders in school management within the context of Uzbekistan’s education system. The study explores issues such as gender equality, pathways to leadership, institutional and cultural obstacles, as well as existing support mechanisms. Drawing on statistical data and international experiences, it examines the social, familial, and systemic pressures women face when aspiring to leadership roles, along with the opportunities available to them, such as educational programs and mentoring initiatives. The article also discusses the positive impact of female leadership on education quality, the shaping of school environments, and student outcomes. In conclusion, it offers recommendations aimed at increasing women’s participation in school leadership as a means of reinforcing gender equity.
