Main Article Content
Abstract
Atherosclerosis is one of the main factors that accelerate the aging process in the human body. It leads to structural and functional changes in the vascular system, decreased elasticity of the arteries and circulatory disorders. With age, the risk of developing atherosclerosis increases significantly, and it becomes the background for such diseases as coronary heart disease, myocardial infarction, stroke. This paper discusses the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations and relationship of atherosclerosis with biological aging processes, as well as modern approaches to the prevention and treatment of this disease.
