Abstract
The ultimate goal of learning a foreign language is smooth communication. To achieve this, an understanding of the culture of the target language nation is essential, as culture is a comprehensive concept that contains the thinking and behavior patterns of members of a society, and the language well reflects the culture of the society to which the language belongs.
This paper aims to present proverbs as various learning materials for cultural education for Korean language education. The reason why proverbs were specifically chosen as the subject of consideration in this paper is due to the fact that they generally exist in any language and their contents reflect the unique characteristics of the people. In this paper, we will explain the concept of proverbs and create a plan to teach proverbs to intermediate learners. The significance of this study can be said to be that classes using actual materials stimulate learners' interest, increase their motivation, and provide an opportunity to naturally access Korean culture through proverbs.
