Abstract

In contemporary education systems, the research competence of future specialists is increasingly viewed as a vital component of professional development. This paper explores how adherence to professional standards contributes to the enhancement of research competence in pre-service and in-service training programs. It critically examines the integration of standards into curriculum design, teaching practices, and institutional policies that foster analytical thinking, methodological awareness, and scientific inquiry. By reviewing international frameworks and national standards across disciplines, and through a qualitative methodological approach, the study highlights how professional standards serve as guiding frameworks for ensuring quality, consistency, and progress in research education.
