FAUST AS A MASTERPIECE OF THE AGE OF ENLIGHTENMENT

Abstract

During the renaissance of the German Enlightenment and especially during the years of “Storm and Attack”, interest in folk culture increases; Many people tried to write about Faust, but only Goethe was able to cope with this task. Goethe expressed that the basic meaning and essence of Enlightenment is human communication, understanding of the secrets of nature, and the creation of these infinite miracles.
