Abstract

The development of music in Uzbekistan is a multifaceted journey that spans centuries, blending traditional folk melodies with contemporary influences. Rooted in rich cultural heritage, Uzbek music features a diverse array of instruments and styles, from classical maqom to modern pop and rock. This paper explores the historical evolution of Uzbek music, its traditional instruments, the influence of Sufi poetry, and the impact of globalization on its contemporary expression. Government support, international collaborations, and cultural initiatives are also examined in shaping the vibrant music scene of Uzbekistan.
