Abstract
This article explores the effectiveness of dictation in enhancing spelling skills among primary school pupils. Dictation, a traditional teaching method, engages students in listening to words and writing them down, reinforcing correct spelling patterns through auditory recognition and active participation. The article discusses the benefits of dictation, including auditory reinforcement, contextual learning, immediate feedback, and assessment. Practical tips for conducting dictation sessions are provided, emphasizing word selection, clear pronunciation, varied exercises, feedback, and consistent practice. By implementing dictation effectively, teachers can help students develop strong spelling skills and foster literacy development.
